Mrs. Mobh teaches fourth grade at Armstrong Elementary and was selected from teacher candidates across Highland Park's campuses. A fifteen year teaching veteran, she was selected because she inspires and challenges her students. Ashraf Mobh was nominated by parents who praised her dedication, creativity and inspirational teaching style. Many of whom described how Mobh has introduced global perspectives through literature, participating in Skypes and interviewing outside speakers.
PC-TAG's Julie Young and Amy Peck presented the award to Ashraf Mobh on May 18 in front of a classroom of her cheering students and Principal Skip Moran. Through its annual Teacher of the Year award, PC-TAG seeks to recognize those HPISD teachers who through their instruction significantly impact the lives of their students by embracing and recognizing the educational, social and emotional needs of gifted children.
