On March 15 the HPISD School Board gratefully accepted Park Cities Talented and Gifted (PC-TAG)'s 2016 gift during their board meeting. PC-TAG Chair Kim McCue and Chair-Elect Kathryn Gameros presented the $37,115 check, which was made possible by the organization's membership drive and "TAG you're It" fundraiser.
The funds will provide technology, curriculum enrichment, academic competitions, teacher conferences and training on all seven HPISD campuses.

After careful review of all requests, the PC-TAG Board of Directors approved funding in the amount of $40,274. Amy Genender, PC-TAG Chair, presented the check at the HPISD Board of Trustees meeting on April 8, 2014.
The gift funds requests from teachers at all seven HPISD campuses in support of the district’s Talented and Gifted (TAG) and enrichment programs as well as mainstream educational programs. The current year gift enabled the purchase of enrichment items including iPads for use in the classroom, curriculum enrichment materials, classroom technology, support for academic competitions, teacher scholarships and training, and summer curriculum development. PC-TAG is proud to announce the results of the organization’s “TAG You’re It” fundraising campaign, which was conducted this year during Online Registration, at two fundraising events and via email. Teachers were asked to submit their gift requests to PC-TAG with an explanation as to how the item(s) they were seeking would enhance the learning experience of their students. PC-TAG received gift requests totaling over $60,000. After careful review of all requests, the PC-TAG Board of Directors approved to fund teacher requests totaling $44,745. See Funded Items here. Andrea Hamilton, PC-TAG Chair, presented a $31,551 check to the Highland Park Independent School District (HPISD) at the district’s Board of Trustees meeting on April 10, 2012. The gift funds requests from teachers at all seven HPISD campuses in support of the district’s Talented and Gifted (TAG) and enrichment programs. In accepting the gift on behalf of the board, HPISD Board of Trustees Finance Officer Joe Taylor noted that PC-TAG’s continued support of all campuses in the district was greatly appreciated. The current year gift enabled the purchase of enrichment items that include iPads for use in the classroom, curriculum enrichment materials, classroom technology, support for academic competitions, elementary math journals, robotics kits, science kits, teacher scholarships, field trips, presenters for the summer institute, and summer curriculum development, to name a few. With a focus on advocacy, education for parents, and fundraising to support academic and extracurricular programs, PC-TAG’s efforts have consistently helped support a more enriched learning environment throughout the district. |
